Coffeyville resident Martha M. Smith died on Sunday, March 25, 2007 in Coffeyville. She was 76. Martha was born on May 17,1930 in Montgomery County, Kansas to Johnnie H. and Mary Elizabeth Franks Connor. She attended rural schools in Montgomery County. On February 1, 1946 she married Willard Allen Smith in Coffeyville. They made their home in South Coffeyville for a short time and later moved to Coffeyville. She was a homemaker, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother. She later enjoyed bowling and bingo. Survivors include two daughters, Janice and husband Bruce Richardson of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma and Vicki and Bill Ruark of Coffeyville. Grandchildren are Brian Richardson, Lorie Caulkins and Darin Carr. There are 11 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by three brothers, A.J. Connor of Tulsa, Lowell Woody Connor of Paola, Kansas, Donald Connor of Tulsa; two sisters, Barbara Rozel of Barling, Arkansas and Pauline Sollitt Of Kinsley, Kansas She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Willard Smith, one grandson, Allen Richardson and three brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Fred Lamb, Senior Pastor of the First Baptist Church in South Coffeyville, Oklahoma will officiate and burial will follow in the Penwell-Gabel Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday, March 27, 2007 from 9 am until 9 pm at the funeral home to sign the guest register. Memorials may be made to the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
