Mary Cornett

Mary Jane Cornett Coffeyville resident, Mary Jane Cornett entered into eternal rest on June 25, 2007 in Coffeyville, Kansas. She was 89. Mary Jane was born January 16, 1918 in Coffeyville and lived there all her life. She attended Coffeyville Public schools. She was a member of the Westside Christian Church in Coffeyville. She married Darrell M. Cornett on June 24, 1933 in Independence, Kansas. They were married for 58 years and lived in Coffeyville all their married life. Mr. Cornett died on July 14, 1991. Their son, Jimmie Darrell Cornett died December 13, 1996. Survivors include daughter and son in-law Peggy and Robert Armstrong of Coffeyville, Kansas; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister Hazel Walker of Abiline, Kansas; brother, George L. Brown of Great Falls, Montana. She was preceded in death by husband Darrell M. Cornett, her son Jim Darrell Cornett, sister Myrtle Ellicock, a brother George L. Brown. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 28, 2007 at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel. Pastor Mike Elrod will officiate and burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville. Friends may call on Wednesday, June 27, 2007 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the funeral home to sign the guest register. The family will greet friends Wednesday evening from 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
