Mary Frances Field was born November 7, 1913 to Seward and Zora Mae Woods in Delaware County, Oklahoma. Ms. Field entered her long awaited rest and reward with her Savior on July 17, 2010 at the Alma Health and Rehabilitation Center, Alma, Arkansas. Frances as she was more commonly known, was reared in the Sycamore, Kansas area where she attended school through the eighth grade. October 15, 1930 she joined in marriage with Arthur Field of Sycamore. They increased their family on three occasions with the birth of Lila Jean, Virginia Mae and Richard Lee during the course of the next few years. Frances enjoyed life to the fullness by leading and caring for her family. She became a Christian believer in Neodesha, Kansas and later moved to Coffeyville, Kansas where she became a member of the First Assembly of God Church. Her faithfulness to church and her 26 years as a teacher of both the Youth Classes and the women39s Dorcas Class became a commitment she enjoyed and served with devotion. Following the departure of her last child from the home she was proud of her new frontier as clerk at The Old Yellow Front Store in Coffeyville, where she worked for almost nine years. Ms. Field is survived by her daughter Lila of Alma, Arkansas, Virginia of Centennial, Colorado and son Richard of Castle Rock, Colorado. Also ten grand children and 19 great grand children, 2 great great grandchildren and a host of friends and love ones celebrate the home going of Frances. Ms. Field is proceeded in death by her husband Arthur, sonsinlaw George Johnson and William Knight , and great grand daughter Megan Hollis. Also two sisters, Jewell and Dorothy, and infant brother Dewey, stepbrother Cecil and stepmother Pearl, are united in death with Frances. A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 24, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at PenwellGabel FordWulfBruns Chapel in Coffeyville, Kansas. A private family burial will take place at a later time. Friends may call on Friday, July 23, 2010 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. to sign the guest register. The family request in lieu of flowers a memorial gift may be given to the First Assembly of God Church, Coffeyville, Kansas these may be left with the funeral home.
