Mary Margaret Elizabeth Bryner Queen 1903 2007 Mary Margaret Elizabeth Bryner Queen, 103, entered into rest on January 23, 2007 at Mitchells Nursing Home, in Danville, Arkansas. Mary was born on August 19, 1903 at the family farm near Altamont, Kansas. She spent her childhood years growing up on the farm and attending a one room country schoolhouse. Mary treasured the times she spent on the farm. The Bryner family moved to Coffeyville, Kansas in 1921. She worked in Coffeyville from 1921 until she purchased Brownie Grill in 1950. She was owneroperator until she retired at the age of 70. Mary had many devoted customers who always spoke highly of Brownies food and home made pies. Mary stayed in Coffeyville until 1990, when she moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. She remained there until she moved back to Coffeyville to live with her sister Gertrude Bowersox in 1998. In 2002 at the age of ninety-nine she moved to Mitchells Nursing Home in Danville, Arkansas. Mary was preceded in death by her husband Winfield Dooley Queen in 1944. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, a daughter and a granddaughter. Survivors include her sister, Gertrude Bowersox, Coffeyville, 2 granddaughters, 10 great grandchildren, 13 great great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Mary will be sorely missed by all. Mrs. Queen has been cremated and a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave, Coffeyville, Ks. Rev. Jennifer Collins of the First United Methodist Church will be officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery of Coffeyville, Kansas.
