Mary Rongey

Mary C Rongey, age 100, of Coffeyville, passed away on October 26, 2016 at Medicalodge of Coffeyville.

Mary was born in rural Searcy, Arkansas on Christmas day 1915 to Bradley and Netie (Owen) Morris, the eldest of three daughters. She and her sisters were raised in Searcy and also attended local schools. After school Mary met Jasper Rongey and the couple later married on April 28, 1934 in Searcy. They later made their home in Coffeyville in 1935. They were happily married for 42 years until Jasper's passing in 1976. Mary was a very loving person that took pride in home. She was a devoted wife and homemaker. Mary enjoyed traveling, gardening, taking care of her animals, and she loved her family.

Left to honor Mary's memory is her niece, Janet Wright, and her friends at Medicalodge of Coffeyville. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jasper, sisters, Sarah Rockwell and Mildred Wright, and a nephew.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 31, 2016 at 11:00 am at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave, Coffeyville, KS.
