Maryetta Ellis age 68, formerly of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at Fredonia Regional Hospital in Fredonia, Kansas. Maryetta was born on October 2, 1942 in Coffeyville, Kansas to George and Pearl Scott. She grew up in Coffeyville where she attended local schools. Maryetta worked for TG ampY in Coffeyville, Kansas and also worked at a box factory in Independence, Kansas. But most of her time was occupied raising and caring for her family. She loved to dress up, crochet and garden. She was an active member of the First Church of God In Christ in Coffeyville, Kansas. She leaves to cherish her memories: two sons, Maverick Scott and Dion Gaston both of Wichita, Ks: two daughters, Porcia Scott of Kansas City, Ks and Sophia Gaston of Lawrence, Ks: one brother, Herman Scott of Coffeyville, Ks: two sisters, Lydia Scott and Pearlie Mae Cain both of Coffeyville, Ks: six grandchildren, Kenneth Brown, Jr., Brook Scott and Tomiko Scott ,Darean gaston, Amanda Gaston, Eraiale Gaston: ,three great grandchildren, Travis Scott, Rahim White and Rasheed White. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Pearl Scott: husband, David Joe Brown: one daughter, Dava Jo Brown: four brothers, Halle Scott, James Scott, Elmer Scott and Burt Lee Scott: two sisters, Etta Mae Sales and Ida Bell Ratliff. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of God In Christ in Coffeyville, Ks. Interment will be held at the Veterans Patio at Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville. Visitations for friends and family will be held on Monday August 22, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at PenwellGabel FordWulfBruns Chapel in Coffeyville to sign the guest register. The family will greet friends Monday evening from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
