MattieMolly Lee Garner of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away Friday, June 19, 2009 at Windsor Place Nursing Home. She was 88. Molly was born June 7, 1921 in Scotland, Arkansas to H.J. and Estella Stubblefield Jones. She grew up and received her education in Scotland. On November 20, 1938 she was united in marriage to O.G. Garner. The couple made their home in South Coffeyville. After her husband passed away she moved to Broken Arrow, Oklahoma where she was a member of the Florence Street Baptist Church. She later returned to Coffeyville. Molly enjoyed music, going to church, flowers, sewing, playing Skip Bo and most of all fixing a big meal to have all her family and friends over. She was a former member of Bible Baptist Church in Coffeyville. Surviving to honor her memory are her sons, John and Mary Ann Garner of Coffeyville, KS, Dewey Garner of Locust Grove, OK, Steven and Cathy Garner of Pittsburg, KS; daughters, Marie and Bob Sparks of Broken Arrow, OK, Irma Kallenberger of So. Coffeyville, OK; sister Violet Webb of Conway, Arkansas; fourteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded by her loving husband; son, Kenny Garner; brothers, Lonnie, Otis and Vester; sisters, Doris Crow and Ovna Williams. Friends may call on Wednesday, June 24, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home to sign the guest register. Family will greet friends that evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel. Brother Daniel Knight of Bible Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow at Penwell-Gabels Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
