Maurine Margaret Lay, age 97, of Coffeyville, KS, passed away on October 9, 2016 at Windsor Place.
Maurine was born in Vinita, OK on May 24, 1919 to John and Loy Vaught. She attended and graduated from White Oak High School. After graduation Maurine married William Franklin Lay, and moved to Coffeyville, where they were blessed with three children. Maurine was a homemaker, raising her children until William passed away, at age 51. Maurine then started working for the state, in the Welfare Social Rehabilitation Service. She devoted over 16 years of service before retiring. Maurine enjoyed going to church, reading, jigsaw puzzles, game shows, and her biggest joy in life, her family.
Those left to honor her memory are, her sons, Rodney Lay his wife Karen, Bill Lay his wife Kim, grandchildren, Rodney Lay Jr. his wife Tina, John Lay his wife Christine, Justin Lay his wife Nicola, Tim Lay his wife Jefferie, great-grandchildren, Austin, Brittany, Charlie, Oliver, James, Ben, Carson, and Luke. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William, and her daughter Carol Sue Lay.
Graveside services will be held on Wednesday, October, 12, 2016 at 10:00am at Robbins Cemetery with Pastor Jamie Regis of Dearing Christian Church officiating. Friends are invited to sign the register and greet the family on Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Ford-Wulf-Bruns from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. The family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer's Association and they may be sent in care of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel 2405 Woodland Ave. Coffeyville, KS 67337.
