Maxine Lancaster

R. Maxine Lancaster, 81, of Coffeyville, Kansas died Sunday, August 30, 2009 at Medicalodge in Coffeyville. She was born February 7, 1928 in Coffeyville to Presly Roy Rutherford and Clara Lively Rutherford. Maxine worked as a school teacher in small rural schools and was a social worker for the State of Kansas. She was an avid quilter and a loving mother. Her family was truly the center of her life. Maxine was preceded in death by her parents and is survived by daughter Debra Fincher and husband Larry of Caney, Kansas, grandchildren Brook Pratt and John Hadley and great grandchildren Jessica, Chandler, Morgan and Carter. Funeral services for R. Maxine Lancaster will be held at 2:00P.M. on Wednesday, September 2, 2009 at Penwell-Gabel Funeral home in Coffeyville. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Chetopah. Visitation will be Tuesday evening at the funeral home from 6 to 8. Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home of Coffeyville is in charge of arrangements.
