Maxine T Thompson, age 96, of Coffeyville passed away on October 29, 2017 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.
Maxine was born on April 7, 1921 in Hepler, KS to Joseph and Maude (Landers) Tanner. She attended Lakin Grade School and graduated from Hepler High School, she continued her education at the Business Preparatory School in Wichita, KS. Maxine was united in marriage to Howard Bilderback on July 3, 1941; he preceded her in death in 1958. She was then united in marriage to Clinton Wayne Thompson on June 1, 1962; he preceded her in death in 2003.
In earlier years she worked in various accounting offices in Wichita, KS. She also found employment with First Federal Savings & Loan after the death of her first husband, for 4 years. As a homemaker, she sewed including clothing for herself and girls in the family, did various crafts, chair caning, reading, and bridge. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Coffeyville.
Survivors are her children, Barbara Bilderback of Tulsa, OK and John (Bernadette) Bilderback of rural Edna, KS. Grandchildren - Kristi Bilderback, Becky (Chad) Bachman, and Stephanie (Brad) Moore. Great-grandchildren - Camden, Kerragan, Colbin, Jaylie, Lane, Rhett, Amber, Anthony, and Andrew.
Graveside services under the direction of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at North Edna Cemetery at 11:00 am. Friends are invited to sign the register on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm at the Chapel. The family suggests memorials to the Coffeyville Community College Foundation, and they may be sent in care of the Chapel.
