Melrena Bishop

Melrena J. Finney-Bishop 1917-2006 Melrena J. Finney-Bishop, 88, Coffeyville, Kansas resident, entered into rest on April 26, 2006 at the Medical Lodge of Coffeyville, Kansas. She was born to Frank and Hattie Cole Finney, June 6, 1917, at Niotaze, Kansas. She attended grade school at Havana and Wayside, Ks. Graduated from Caney High and attended Coffeyville Community College. She taught school for twelve years at Dearing, Fredonia, Sedan and Robbins School. Mrs. Bishop received her Masters Degree from Emporia State University. She married A.W.Buck Hertweck in December 1943. They owned and operated Hertweck Electric for thirty-five years. They later
orced. She married Clyde Bishop on June 17, 1973. He preceded her in death. She was a long time member of the First Baptist Church. She is survived by one Sister, Monica Webb of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, George and Jack Finney. Mrs. Bishop will lie in state at Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave., in Coffeyville, Kansas on Friday, April 28, 2006 from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 29, 2006 at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave., in Coffeyville, Kansas. The Reverend Dr. Wayne Norton will be presiding. Burial will follow in the Sunnyside Cemetery in Caney, Kansas. Memorial contributions: First Baptist Church co Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home.
