Retired MSGT Michael L Stuart was born on November 4, 1948 in Independence, KS. He passed away on June 12, 2018 with his loving wife Ginger and daughter
Barbara by his side. He had been under the care of Parsons VA Clinic for the past 8 years. Also several of our wonderful doctors at CRMC and recently Hometown Hospice Care!
Michael was a resident of Coffeyville at the time of his passing.
Michael attended the Coffeyville Public School System and graduated from Field Kindley High School class of 1966 and Coffeyville Community Junior College 1968 with an associate's degree. Michael then joined the United States Air Force and was stationed at several Air Force Bases, Topeka, Alaska, Mississippi, Australia, and Washington. He received several medals during his proud military career. He often said if they called him back, he would go! Michael retired in 1991 and returned home to Coffeyville.
While attending his 25th high school reunion, he met Virginia "Ginger" Mayo and they were married in 1992 until the time of his death. Preceding him in death are his parents Jack Stuart and Barbara (Spears) Stuart.
Michael was active in many Military organizations, VFW, American Legion, and DAV, he was the commander of the 40/8 and commander and adjunct for the Disabled American Veterans Chapter 33. He loved bowling, golf, and if there was any type of sports game on tv he was watching not only one but several at a time!
Those missing Michael are his wife Ginger of the home, sister Jackie Yell her husband Rockie of Coffeyville, daughter Barbara Stuart of Ottawa, stepsons, Eric Wilson his wife Ranea of Coffeyville and David Wilson his wife Monique of Virginia Beach, VA, grandchildren, Michael Stuart, Allen Wools, Christian Olson, Heather Ayers, Josh Wilson, Erica Wilson, David Wilson, Shawntel Dudley, Harlene Alford, and Brooke Evans, great-grandchildren, Raina, Ashna, Layne, Josiah, Bella, David, Autumn, Elijah, and Jeriah, several friends and so many more family members. Michael you touched so many hearts and we will all miss you! Rest well my husband in your Heavenly Home.
Graveside memorial services will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 10:00 am at the Veterans Memorial Patio at Fairview Cemetery with Pastor Mark Wilson officiating. Military honors will be provided by McConnell Air Force Base, VFW Post 1033, and the American Legion Post 20. The family suggests memorials be made payable to the family to help defray final expenses or to the Coffeyville Disabled American Veterans and they may be sent in care of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel.
