MichaelMike David Sutton, 66, of Tyro, Kansas passed away Friday, December 30, 2011 at St. Johns Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Mike had made the decision early on to give the gift of life he wanted to be an organ donor. At the time of his passing he was able to give others the gift of having a longer life with his generosity. Mike was born on August 26, 1945 in Wichita, Kansas to Orville and Irene Painter Sutton. He grew up in Elk City, Kansas where he attended local schools, completing his High School education. On March 19, 1979 he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Kathi Kastler in Miami, Oklahoma. The couple made their home in Tyro, Kansas. Mike had worked at a few different local businesses throughout the years. He worked the longest as a custodian for the Coffeyville, Kansas U.S.D. 445 School District as a custodian until his retirement. He took great pride working for the school district and enjoyed spending his time there. He was known as a craftsman. He built swings, and enjoyed wood working. He always had a garden and tended to it faithfully. Mike had opened his own small store known asMikes Market where he sold the things he made. He will always be remembered as a Jackofalltrades. Those around him always looked up to him and he was loved by everyone he met. Most of all he loved the time he spent with his family. He enjoyed every moment with all the kids and grandkids. Surviving to honor his memory are his wife, Kathi Sutton of the home son, David Sutton of Cherryvale, KS daughters, Stephanie Zimmerman and husband, Wayne of Mound Valley, KS, Julie Wilmore of Olathe, KS, Lesa Davis and husband, Derrick, Lena Sutton all of Independence, KS brothers, Victor Sutton and wife, Sue of Gladstone, MO, Delbert Sutton and wife, Charlene of Puyullap, Washington, Paul Sutton of Ft. Lauderdale, FL sister, Ann Dalton and husband, Bob of Haysville, KS fifteen grandchildren and four greatgrandchildren. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Irene son, Michael Sutton brother, Gordon Sutton sisters, Doris Crigger, Judy Byerley, Peggy Barber, Barbara Sutton and a granddaughter, Sarah Davis. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 5, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Tyro Christian Church in Tyro, Kansas. Evangelist David Bycroft will officiate. The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to the Coffeyville USD 445 School District. These may be left with PenwellGabel FordWulfBruns Funeral Home in Coffeyville, Kansas.
