Mickey Castorena

Micaela Mickey Maria Castorena, 69, Coffeyville, passed away January 26, 2010 at her home, surrounded by her family. Mickey was born September 28, 1940 at Coffeyville Memorial Hospital. She grew up in Coffeyville and attended Holy Name School, as well as Coffeyville Community College. On December 31, 1956, Mickey married Octavian Keido C. Castorena at Bentonville, Arkansas. The Castorenas made their home in Independence, Cherryvale, Junction City and Marion, KS and in Fort Worth, Texas, before settling in Coffeyville in 1968. Mickey was employed by SEKCAP, Emerson Electric, Funk Manufacturing and WalMart, before retiring in 2007. She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church. Survivors include seven children, Robert Castorena and his wife, Concepcion of Tucson, AZ, Debra Blumenstein and her husband, David of Coffeyville, David Castorena and his wife, Debbie of Edna, KS, Penny Tucker and her husband, Bob of Wichita, KS, Loretta Brown of Coffeyville, Andrew Castorena and his wife, Mammie of Coffeyville, and Octavian Castorena, III and his wife, Erin of Independence, KS a sister, Juanita York and her husband, Richard of Bartlesville, OK two brothers, John Rodriguez and his wife, Kathy of Greenfield, IN and Tony Rodriguez and his wife, Debbie of Coffeyville 26 grandchildren and 42 greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Octavian, on July 9, 1998 by her parents, Jose and Manuela Rodriguez by a sister, Jessie Castorena by brothers, Joe and Leo Rodriguez and two little angels, Jenny and Serenity. Rosary Service will be held Saturday, January 30th, 2:00 pm, at PenwellGabel FordWulfBruns Chapel, Coffeyville, KS. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 3: 00 pm, Saturday, January 30th at PenwellGabel FordWulfBruns Chapel, Coffeyville, KS with interment in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of PenwellGabel FordWulfBruns Chapel.
