Minerva Thomason age 71, passed away on July 9, 2014 at her home in Coffeyville, Kansas.
Minerva was born on March 22, 1943 in Brownsville, Texas to Sottero Buiterira and Maria Garcia. Minerva attended school in Brownsville, Texas graduating from Homer Hannah High School. Minerva has lived in Coffeyville for over 36 years. She was employed by Aptus now known as Clear Harbors until her retirement. Minerva was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church.
She enjoyed being an Interpreter for the Montgomery County District Court, but most of all loved being a great mother to her family.
Survivors include her son, Gary E. Thomason Jr., of Coffeyville, Kansas daughters, Mary Rebecca Moncada Petty of Buna, Texas, Cecilia Moncada and Alice Dora Thomason Adler both of Coffeyville, Kansas brothers, David Hernandez, Juan Johnny Hernandez, Arnold Hernandez, Frank Hernandez, and Danny Hernandez all of Brownsville, Texas sisters, Estrella Tischilier, Isabel Vera, of Brownsville, Texas, Dorie Hernandez, of Dallas, Texas, Lucy Fernandez, of Brownsville, Texas, Dalinda Hernandez, of Brownsville, Texas and Celina Garcia also of Brownsville, Texas nine grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Mary Alice Buiterira.
Memorial services will be held on Monday, July 14, 2014 at 2:00 pm at the FordWulfBruns Chapel 2405 Woodland Ave, Coffeyville, Kansas, Father Chad Arnold will be officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association and may be left with the funeral home.
