Myrna Louise Lanning age 80 of Coffeyville went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 13, 2019.
Myrna was born on November 14, 1938 in Benedict, KS to Carl and Dorothy (Bell) Wing. She attended school in Fredonia and received her certificate from Wichita Beauty College. Myrna owned and operated her own salon in Coffeyville for a number of years. She was married to Dean Lanning from 1953 to 1964, to this union the couple was blessed with a son and daughter. After having some health related issues due to chemicals at the salon Myrna went to work for the City of Coffeyville where she worked in human resources. She devoted many years to the city and retired in 2001.
Myrna was a member of the bowling league, bridge club, and a faithful member of Grace Fellowship. She loved to read and study her Bible. Daily readings were much more than just reading, she would research the meaning and wanted to fully understand the passages. When her sight began to fail her daughter bought her the Bible on audio and she enjoyed listening to the word of God. Myrna was a talented artist; drawing, painting, and pretty much any crafts she made were spectacular. She enjoyed sports, such as football, basketball, and golf; she kept up on the players and would know their stats and averages. She also enjoyed scrabble, and loved when her opponent challenged her. During these "scrabble battle" the scrabble dictionary was put to good use. Myrna loved her family, keeping a clean house, doing for others, and she loved her church family.
Myrna's memories will live on with her daughter Debbie Lindbloom and son-in-law Trent; grandchildren: Becky and Eric VanBecelaere, Kelly and Aaron Green, Lesli and Randy Lugo and Kristin and Rick Pippin; great-grandchildren: Noah Newcomb, Hunter Newcomb, Lillian Green, Addison VanBecelaere, Grace VanBecelaere, Austin Lancaster, Keaton Lancaster, Logan Lugo, Kendal Lugo, Faith Pippin and Wyatt Pippin.
She now rests with her parents, her son Rick Lanning; brothers: Ronald Wing and Richard Wing; sister LaVonne Roll and grandson Heath Lanning.
