Myrtle Murray

Myrtle A. Murray passed away quietly on May 27, 2009 at the age of 97 in Beacon Shores Nursing Home in Virginia Beach, Virginia. She was born on December 20, 1911 in Missouri to the late F.C. and Cordelia Jessee. Myrtle was the fourth of five daughters. She was raised and lived on a farm and was very active in her church and loved to travel when she could. Myrtle sold Avon in Coffeyville and was the caretaker for her husband until his death. Myrtle was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Lynden Wayne Murray. She moved to Virginia Beach in 1997 after her husbands death to live with her daughter and her family. Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Cordelia Hollenbeck of Virginia Beach, Virginia; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 2PM, Monday, June 1, 2009 in Mound Valley Cemetery, Mound Valley, Kansas, with Rev. Wayne Martin officiating. Service and interment are under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, Coffeyville, Kansas. Family suggests donations in Myrtles honor, be made to Emmanuel Southern Baptist Church of Coffeyville in care of the funeral home.
