March 19, 1950 — May 27, 2024

Nancy Nipper

Nancy Lou (Emery) Nipper was born March 19, 1950, in Coffeyville, Kansas to Kenneth and Joy Emery. She was married in 1968 to Forrest Nettles. They had one child together, Cynthia Joy Nettles. Nancy graduated from Field Kindley High School and Coffeyville Community College and later divorced, Nancy and Cynthia moved back to Coffeyville in 1980.

Nancy had a wide variety of hobbies and interests. She loved curling up with a cup of coffee, her dog Gypsy, and a good book. One of her favorite shows was Big Brother, which she watched every summer via phone calls with her daughter, Cynthia.

She was a creative soul and enjoyed baking beautiful cakes and cupcakes for work and school events, scrapbooking with her friends, dinner parties, and organizing trips and events for her girl scout troop.

She loved to go camping and to travel. She went on several trips, cruises, and bus trips with her many friends and family. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and shared many memories and laughs with her dearest friends.

More recently, she met her committed partner and love of her life, Daniel Fontes, while living back in Las Vegas, Nevada. IN 2019, Nancy and Daniel moved back to Coffeyville along with Daniel’s son, Hunter Fontes. Daniel has been Nancy’s rock and took care of her over the last few years as her health declined. They had a wedding ceremony at their home in front of friends and family.

Dan has been with her every step of the way, through it all. From the day they met, until her final breath when she passed at home May 27th, 2024.
