Rural Coffeyville resident, Nancy Rae Slaton entered into eternal rest on on Friday, August 17, 2007 in Coffeyville. She was 60. Nancy was born October 8, 1946 in Coffeyville, Kansas to Joe and Pauline Majors. She grew up and attended schools in Coffeyville. She was married to Donald Slaton. Nancy was a great wife and mother and an excellent cook, She loved being with her children and grandchildren. She liked crocheting, ceramics, gardening and collecting ceramic angels. Survivors include two sons, Steve Slaton of Coffeyville, Kansas and Scott Slaton of Benton, Louisiana; one daughter, Lisa Bishop, of Benton, Louisiana; grandchildren, Jamie Smith, Joe Grant Slaton and Cindy Joe Slaton; two sisters, Shirley Miner and Pat Polk-Marlow. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Rosa Mae Rose; one brother, Darrell Majors and one infant sister, Margaret Majors. Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 23, 2007 at the Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf Bruns Funeral Home of Coffeyville. Pastor Richard Jenkins will be officiating. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m Tuesday, August 21, 2007 and 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2007 to sign the guest register.
