Nathan Kyle Vargas, 28, formerly of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away Saturday, February 11, 2012 at his home in Kansas City, Missouri. Nathan was born on November 29, 1983 in Coffeyville, Kansas to Bernie and Toni Alloway Vargas. Nathan grew up in Coffeyville he graduated from Tyro Christian School in 2002. Nathan went to Coffeyville Community College where he received his Associates of Science degree. He went on to attend Emporia State University where he received his Bachelors of Science in Nursing. In 2007 he moved to Kansas City, Missouri where he worked for Northland L.T.A.C. Hospital as a Registered Nurse. While living in Coffeyville and Emporia, Nathan worked for WalMart in the Pharmacy where he made many friends. He enjoyed music, concerts, going to the movies, cooking and trying many cultures of foods. Most of all Nathan enjoyed his friends and family, especially the time he spent with his nieces. He loved social gatherings. He was known for his infectious smile and always being there for others. Surviving to honor his memory are his parents, Bernie and Toni Vargas brother, Lucas Vargas and wife, Chelsea nieces, Avery and Gracen Vargas all of Coffeyville, Kansas grandparents, Richard and Darlene Alloway of Coffeyville, Kansas, Ray and Darlene Vargas of Topeka, Kansas, Helen Vargas of Coffeyville, Kansas, Ignacio Vargas of Wichita, Kansas many aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 17, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Tyro Christian Church in Tyro, Kansas. Friends may call on Thursday, February 16, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at PenwellGabel FordWulfBruns Chapel in Coffeyville to sign the guest register. Family will greet friends Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to the Nathan Vargas Memorial Scholarship Fund these may be left with the funeral home.
