Coffeyville resident Neal E. Harris died on Tuesday, November 21, 2006 in Coffeyville. He was 92. Neal was born on November 3, 1914 in West Plains, Missouri to Frank and Edith Faulkner Harris. He attended school in Midian, Kansas and later finished high school in Tawanda, Kansas. He started a career in pipe welding in 1935 serving as a welders assistant. Later he became a pipe welder and worked in the field for 44 years. During his career, he worked as an inspector on various pipelines and retired in 1986. Also in 1935, he married Lena Mae she preceded him in death in 1976. He later married Dorothy Delaney She also preceded him in death in 2004. He is survived by a son Joe Harris of Texas; 3 step-sons Scott and wife Debbie Blaness of Lake Crystal, MN., Jeff and wife Mary Blaness of Independence, Iowa and Shawn Delaney and friend Monica of Eden Prairie, MN; step-daughter Terri Dezelski of Lakeville, MN; a grandson Rick Harris of Spavinaw, OK , 7 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren. a sister-in-law Barb Lindberg of Dearing, KS Along with his wives, Neal was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson Marlin Harris in 1981. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, November, 25, 2006 in the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor J.E. Reynolds will officiate and burial will follow in the North Edna Cemetery at Edna, KS.
