Coffeyville resident Nellie Marie Felts entered into eternal rest on Friday, October 26, 2007. She was 84. Mrs. Felts was born August 28, 1923 in Liberty, Kansas to Charles and Mary Bridgett Lynn Elliott. She grew up and attended Liberty Elementary and High Schools. On August 19, 1943 she married Max Lowell Felts in Santa Ana, California. Following Mr. Felts discharge from the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII, the couple made their home in Coffeyville where Mr. Felts worked for Sinclair Refinery until it closed in 1949. In 1950 he was employed at Co-Op Refinery retiring in 1985 as a supervisor. Mrs. Felts was a homemaker. She was a member of the V.F.W. Post 1022 Ladies Auxiliary, E.H.U. and a very active member of St. Pauls Episcopal Church; she participated in many activities as well as the church thrift shop. She is survived by her son, Ronald Bruce Felts of Coffeyville, Kansas; daughter, Sondra K. Mayfield of Marion, Kansas; sister, Clara Schnedler of Coffeyville, Kansas; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Max and brother James. Services will be held at 10 a.m.Tuesday, October 30, 2007 at St. Pauls Episcopal Church in Coffeyville, Kansas. Father Jerry Adinolfi will officiate. Internment will follow at the LibertyCemetery in Liberty, Kansas. Friends may call on Sunday, October 28, 2007 from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and on Monday, October 29, 2007 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. to sign the register. Family will greet friends on Monday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Pauls Episcopal Church. These may be left with the funeral home.
