Lifetime Coffeyville resident, Nellie Ruth Hey, 96, passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at her home. Nellie was born on February 12, 1912 in Coffeyville, the daughter of Robert French and Ada Pearl Losh Fitzpatrick. She graduated from Washington High School, Coffeyville, KS and attended Coffeyville Community College for special interests. She married Everett Hey in June of 1930. Together, they enjoyed the outdoors, traveling, golfing, fishing, hunting, and photography. Nellie enjoyed being a housewife, mother, and grandmother. She served as Worthy Matron of Eastern Star, assisted the Salvation Auxiliary, a past member of Beta Sigma Phi and participated in Judging Ceramic Art Shows. Nellie was a lifetime member of Trinity United Methodist Church. She is survived by her son, French L. Hey and wife, Klinell Wells Hey of Coffeyville; grandchildren, Deborah L. Hey Black and husband, Brad Black of Lynn Haven, FL, and Angela D. Hey Ulsaker and husband, Scott Ulsaker of Kingfisher, OK; great-grandchildren, Brandon, Adam, and Daniel Black and Reagan Ulsaker Mashaney, Danielle Ulsaker Moss and Seth Ulsaker; great-great-grandchildren, Abbey, Emily, Deanna, and Alyssa Black, Austin, Abygale, and Maggie Mashaney, and Maddie Moss. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 29, 2008 at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel where the family will receive friends one hour prior at 1:00 p.m. Friends may call Friday, 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Penwell-Gabels Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Harry Hynes Hospice in care of the funeral home.
