Nova Trecia Collins, 97, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Windsor Place. Nova was born on November 12, 1914 in Havana, Kansas to Fred and Mary Louise Blakemore Stroud. On January 19, 1936 she was united in marriage to Albert Collins, Jr. in Coffeyville, Kansas. They made their home in Coffeyville. Albert passed away on July 16, 1985. Nova was a homemaker and a member of the South Coffeyville United Methodist Church for 76 years. She was a member of Westside Workers, a lifetime member of the PTA, an avid bowler, sang in the church choir, and a board of trustee of the church. Survivors are her sons, Larry Linda Collins, Ramona, Oklahoma, Ronald Shelly Collins, Mena, Arkansas, and Dana Diane Collins, Ft. Smith, Arkansas daughter, Nana Roger Cotner, Independence, Kansas sister, Vella Adams, Coffeyville, Kansas twelve grandchildren twentysix greatgrandchildren, and thirtytwo greatgreat grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents son, Gary Collins brothers, Owen Stroud and Mike Stroud sister, Ola Simmons and grandson, Jeff Collins. Funeral service will be on Monday, March 5, 2012 at 2:00 PM at PenwellGabel FordWulfBruns Chapel in Coffeyville, Kansas. Friends may call on Sunday, March 4, 2012 from 1 to 6 PM at the funeral home to sign the guest register. Family will greet friends Sunday afternoon from 4 to 6 PM. The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association or the American Heart Association which may be left with the funeral home.
