Coffeyville resident O. B. Johnson entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, September 19, 2007 in Coffeyville. He was 94. He was born March 1, 1913 in Wagoner, Oklahoma to Charley Sylvestor and Phoebe AdelineDodson Johnson. He grew up and attended schools in rural Oklahoma and later attended Roosevelt Jr. High School and Field Kindley Memorial High School in Coffeyville. On July 25, 1937 he married Ruth Morrow in North Kansas City , Missouri. They made their home in Coffeyville. O.B. worked for the Acme Foundry and machine company for forty years. He worked for three generations of the Graham family for Acme Foundry. He loved fishing, hunting and playing cards with friends. He attended the Westside Christian Church until about three years ago when he suffered ill health. He is survived by his wife Ruth of the home, one daughter, Patricia Gunderson of Coffeyville, one son Ronald Johnson of Fredonia. There are six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. There is one brother, Carl Johnson, and a sister Velma Kuch both of Coffeyville. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, who died in infancy and three brothers, two sisters. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, September 29, 2007 in the Westside Christian Church. Pastor Mike Elrod will officiate.
