Opal Ellouise Green, 89, formerly of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at her soninlaws home in El Dorado, Kansas. Opal was born on October 23, 1921 in Independence, Kansas to James and Jessie Wright Graves. In 1930 she moved with her parents to Coffeyville, Kansas and attended the Coffeyville school system. On June 25, 1938 she married Freeman Leo Green in Coffeyville where the couple made their home from 1948 until 1986 when they moved to Grove, Oklahoma. Mr. Green retired after 37 years of service from Union Gas System as the Coffeyville District Supervisor. Mrs. Green was employed for 20 years at the Coffeyville Journal as the family Editor. She retired in 1984. She is survived by her daughter, Glenda Healy and husband, RobertBob of Lincoln City, Oregon soninlaw, John Cunningham or El Dorado, Kansas sister, Betty Earl of Amory, Mississippi 11 grandchildren and several greatgrandchildren and greatgreatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Jessie loving husband, FreemanLeo daughters, Carole Cunningham, Katherine Decker and an infant daughter Linda Green. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at PenwellGabel FordWulfBruns Chapel in Coffeyville. Pastor Mark Wilson will officiate. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville. Friends may call on Monday, September 19, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. to sign the guest register.
