Orville E. "Tom" Tomlin, 79, passed away at his home near Caney, Ks on Saturday, October 8, 2022. Tom was surrounded by family at his passing.

He was born on March 4, 1943, in Fort Smith, Arkansas to George and Thelma (Moses) Tomlin.

Tom married the love of his life, Katie Snell, on May 10, 1962.  Tom met Katie, where she was working as a waitress in his mom's restaurant. It was love at first sight and their love has lasted for over 60 years. Starting their lives together they moved to Kansas, settling in Coffeyville to raise their three children, Wendell, Kim and Shelly. After retiring, the couple moved to Altamont by their daughter, Shelly. They resided there for 18 years but because of failing health moved closer to Kim.

Tom was not only a loving husband and wonderful dad, but he was a jack of all trades. He was an excellent craftsman and enjoyed fishing and camping. Tom and Katie enjoyed spending time with family and would do anything for them.

Tom held many jobs through the years including Page Milk Company, Sherwin Williams, Harry Keith and Sons, and Amazon. Tom had also owned and operated the ABC Carpet Cleaning until he sold it to his brother-in-law, Ron Smith.

Tom loved and trusted in Jesus and was Katie's protector and her life.

Tom is survived by Katie of the home, Children: Wendell Rigsbee and wife Cathy, Kimberly Betts and husband Lonnie, Shelly Wiley and husband Scott. Grandchildren: Wendell Rigsbee Jr. and wife Karla, Shawn Rigsbee and wife Andrea, Nikki Pease and husband Mark, Crystal Jusino and husband Michael, Zach Reeves and wife Tiffany, Carrie van Andel and husband Hayden, Dakota Wiley and wife Terrie, Dalton Wiley, ShyAnne Wiley and Dawson Wiley.  Great grandchildren: Zaylie, Trinity, Gunner, Piper & Raiden Rigsbee, Whyatt Cates, Emery Pease, Brock Mejia, Adrian, Penelope, Piper & Poppy Jusino, Isabella Reeves, Mylan, Justin & Jackson Wiley.

He is now at rest with his parents, his brother Bobby H. Tomlin and sister Thelma Williams.

Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held on Monday, October 17, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Tyro Christian Church with David Bycroft officiating. Tom will be laid to rest in Harrisonville Cemetery under the direction of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel of Coffeyville. The family has requested memorial contributions be make payable to Genentech Foundation, 1 DNA Way 311 B South,  San Francisco, Ca. 94080 and may be left in care of the chapel.  Services will be streamed live under his obituary page at www.fordwulfbrunschapel.com where you may also leave an online word of condolence or share a memory.
