It is with great sadness that the family of Patricia L. Bierbrodt of Coffeyville, announces passing of a wonderful wife, devoted mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend to all whose lives she touched on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center at the age of 75.
Pat was born on February 20, 1946 to John and Dawn R. (Nielsen) Sherley in Chicago, Illinois. At a young age she and her family moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida where she attended grade school. At the start of her secondary education, she and her family relocated in Dallas, Texas to care for family. Upon completion of her education and graduation they returned to Ft. Lauderdale. Pat always had a fondness for Ft. Lauderdale and spoke often of her siblings, Deborah and Joseph and memories of growing up in a loving home.
Pat’s cousin introduced her to a handsome Navy sailor and after a love at first sight and a two-year pen pal courtship she married Robert Merle Beirbrodt on September 9, 1967 at the Blessed Sacrament Church in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. In 1968 the couple move to Coffeyville, where they made their forever home raising their three daughters, Debbie, Donna and Judy.
A loving mother and homemaker, she especially loved taking care of her grandchildren. She was a woman of many talents; she enjoyed art, crafts, painting, and drawing. Her hands were rarely still, you would find a project going on the dining room table at any given time or find her drawing pads and pens around her home. Pat shared those talents not only with her children but also by teaching art at Holy Name School for several years. Painting murals, posters, gifts, and many other items for anyone who asked. She also could be found volunteering her time and talents with the Holy Name Altar Society and at Holy Name Church.
Pat will be forever missed by her husband of 53 years, Merle, of the home, daughters, Debbie and her husband Bill Beckmeyer, Donna and her husband Gib English, Judy and her husband Chris Smith; grandchildren, Mary and Eilleen Beckmeyer, Jessika and Dezirae Hamrick, Jake and Zach English and his wife Rebecca, Ryan and Blaine Smith; six great-grandchildren; brother, Joseph Sherley; sister, Deborah and her husband Les Marshall; several nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends. She was preceded in death by parents. All of these she loved and touched deeply.
Please join the family in celebrating her life. The Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at 1pm at Holy Name Catholic Church 408 Willow, Coffeyville with Father Dan Lorimer officiating. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery in Parsons, Kansas. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2021 at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland Ave, Coffeyville from 3 to 8 pm. Rosary will be start at 7:30 pm. Due to COVID 19 the family is requesting facial masks for each event. The family has requested memorial contributions be made payable to Holy Name Catholic School-Art Program, and may be left in care of the chapel.
