Paula Newman

Paula Ann Newman, 64, Coffeyville, died Saturday, June 6, 2009 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. Paula was born February 20, 1945 at Coffeyville to John Baldauf and Pauline Benton Baldauf. She was a lifelong resident of the Coffeyville community, graduating from Field Kindley High School and then from Independence Junior College with a degree in Art. Paula married Charles LeRoy Newman on October 8, 1972 and the Newmans made Coffeyville there home. Paula was a homemaker and enjoyed oil painting and her cats, namely, Sasha, Sidney and Sammy. She was a member of Coffeyvilles First Baptist Church. Survivors are her cousins, Judy Cable and her husband, Jim of Bartlesville, Oklahoma and Larry Benton of Coffeyville; her half-uncle, Rick Benton and his wife, Linda of Coffeyville; her aunt, Louella Benton of Coffeyville and her caregiver, Michael Szelipajlo of Coffeyville, and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, Charles, on August 20, 2006. Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 9, 2009 at Penwell-Gabels Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery with Dr. Wayne Norton officiating. Service and interment are under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel. Friends may call at the funeral home from noon until 8 p.m., Monday. The family suggests that donations in Paulas memory be made to the American Cancer Society. Donations may be left at the funeral home.
