Pearlie Mae Ricks formerly of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Grace Living Center in Jenks, Oklahoma. She was 88. Pearlie was born on July 24, 1922 in Memphis, Tennessee to Willie and Jessie Ray Bowles. She grew up in Memphis and attended school there. She completed her education in Coffeyville. On July 19, 1952 she was united in marriage to Cecil Ricks, Sr. he preceded her in death in 1995. Pearlie worked for Parsons Ammunition Plant as a factory worker Teds Grill, in Coffeyville, as a cook and was a loving housewife who took care of her family. She was attended church at the New Birth Tabernacle in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She enjoyed reading the bible and attending church as well as time with family and friends. Surviving to honor her memory are her children Cecil and Deborah Ricks of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Josette Johnson of Los Angeles, California grandchildren, Shelia Byars, Lorri Kelly, Tiffany Ricks, Graham Ricks, Fawntasia Johnson greatgrandchildren, Aja BonnerViescas, Ayanna Hudson, Allen Burrell greatgreatgrandchildren, Ahmiyiah Hudson, Isaiah Viescas, Anailah Hudson, Khloe Viescas, Noah Viescas, Darnell Hudson II. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Jessie loving husband, Cecil Ricks, Sr. son, John Copher, Jr. and sister, Willie Mae Copher. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at PenwellGabel FordWulfBruns Chapel in Coffeyville, Kansas. Reverend Lawrence Morrison will officiate. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday, January 14, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home to sign the guest register. The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to the New Birth Tabernacle, Tulsa, Oklahoma. These may be left with the funeral home.
