Phyllis May Moberly Avery, 79, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away Thursday, July 5th, 2012 at Windsor Place in Coffeyville. Phyllis was born on February 19, 1933 in Coffeyville, Kansas to ClydeDoc and Ruby Reynolds Moberly. Mrs. Avery graduated from Field Kindley Memorial High School and attended Coffeyville Junior College and Cloud County Community College in Clay Center, Kansas. She worked as an Avon representative in Caney, Kansas and later for Sears Roebuck and Company in Clay Center and Topeka, Kansas. She worked for Sears, The Candy Shop and Columbia Drug in Coffeyville. For many years she served as a volunteer at CRMC, working in the gift shop and served on the hospital auxiliarys board. She was a member of the Crossroads Community of Christ and served as the congregations CFO for many years. On October 25, 1952 she was united in marriage to RobertBob Avery. He survives of the home. Others survivors include two two daughters, Diana Avery of Wisconsin and Denise Buck and husband, Terry of rural Coffeyville, two sons, David Avery of Rogers, Arkansas, Dennis Avery of Coffeyville, ten grandchildren, seven greatgrandchildren and a sister, Margie Miller of Coffeyville. She was preceded in death by her mother and father. A Graveside service will be held on Monday, July 9, 2012, 11:00a.m., at Spring Hill Cemetery northwest of Coffeyville. Elders Margie Miller and Leslie Brooks will officiate. Friends may call on Sunday, July 8, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at PenwellGabel FordWulfBruns Funeral Home in Coffeyville to sign the guest register. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice or the Alzheimers Association these may be left with the funeral home.
