Ralph Edward Bachman, 69, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 12, 2024.
He was born June 18, 1955, to Walter and Norma Bachman. He grew up in rural Coffeyville, KS. He attended elementary school at Ringo, which was a one-room schoolhouse, before attending Caney Valley High School where he enjoyed Vo Tech classes and graduated from there in 1973. He furthered his education at Independence Community College.
On June 4th of 1973, he started the career he loved at Funk Manufacturing, which is now John Deere Coffeyville Works. Ralph worked there for 50 years as a machinist and loved working the night shift. Ralph was known for his attention to detail and strong work ethic. At the time Ralph quit working he was the longest-tenured employee in the plant, and he was very proud of that.
Ralph met the love of his life Gayle McMahon and they married on July 17, 1976. From this union, they were blessed with 3 children. Ralph loved helping his children in all of their various activities from building pinewood derby cars and spending countless hours pitching to the kids and helping them with all of their various sports. Ralph never missed an event for any of his kids. He loved coloring with the kids and playing board games when they were young. Ralph and his kids spent countless hours playing Trouble and Connect 4. One of his greatest joys later in life was becoming a Papa to his 7 grandkids.
Ralph had a great love for the outdoors. He grew up hunting and enjoyed it when his boys were old enough to go with him. He also loved clay target shooting with his co-workers. Ralph had a shop and enjoyed working on projects and building various items. Ralph loved working in his garden and his kids enjoyed the benefits. He enjoyed bowling and was in a league for several years.
Ralph is survived by his wife Gayle of 48 years of the home, son Chad Bachman (Becky) and grandchildren Camden, Kerragan and Colbin, Hiawatha, KS, son Chris Bachman (Sondra Hall) and grandsons Braiden and Gentry, Parsons, KS and daughter Kari White (Jason) and granddaughters Parker and Reese, Coffeyville, KS.
Tuesday, December 17, 2024 Funeral Services will be held at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland, Coffeyville at 2pm with Angie Knight officiating. Ralph will be laid to rest in Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery following the services. Friends may call to pay their respects on Monday, December 16 from 1 to 5pm at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel.
