Ralph M. Hardy, 77, of Coffeyville, Kansas died Sunday, November 15, 2009 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. He was born February 7, 1932 at Hannibal, Missouri to Joseph N. Hardy and Emma B. Loomis. Ralph was a train engineer for Union Pacific Railroad for twenty-one years and was married to his loving wife Darlene on February 5, 1966. He loved fishing and camping, especially sailing his boat on Oolagah Lake. He collected model trains and airplanes and was a licensed pilot. Ralph was preceded in death by his wife Darlene in 2004 and also his parents, two brothers, two sisters and a step-son. He is survived by his children: Angela Orcutt and husband Gordon of Coffeyville, Sue McAfee of Coffeyville, Bob McAfee of Coffeyville, Pam McAfee of the home, JoEleen and husband Jim of Franklin, Wisconsin, Joe Hardy and wife Sheri of Manteca, California, Mike Hardy and wife Michelle of Alamo, California, Pat Hardy and wife Elissa of Roseville, California, seventeen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren three adoptive great-grandchildren, a brother Robert Hardy of Sacramento, California and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Ralph M. Hardy will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2009 at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home in Coffeyville, Kansas at 2:00P.M. officiated by Father Ben Nguyen of Holy Name Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery of Coffeyville. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 18.
