Ralph Edward Peyton, 71, of Coffeyville, Kansas went to be with Jesus surrounded by his family on Friday, April 15, 2011 at Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Ralph was born on June 10, 1939 in Liberty, Kansas to Lloyd and Grace Mathis Peyton. He grew up in the southeast Kansas area where he attended school. As a teenager Ralph worked as a farm hand. He also worked for Chanute Iron and Metal for 3 years and was a self employed logger for 3 years, which he highly enjoyed. He spent 32 years and 2 months working for Morrow Foundry in Coffeyville, Kansas until his retirement. On April 27, 1960 he was united in marriage to Martha J.Janie Seymour in Miami, Oklahoma. The couple made their home in Coffeyville. Ralph attended the First Baptist Church in Coffeyville. He enjoyed playing guitar when he was younger and he enjoyed tinkering with old cars. Most of all Ralph enjoyed time with his family and friends. He is survived by wife, Janie of Coffeyville son, Tim T. Peyton of Coffeyville daughters, Debbie D. Smith and Sandra S. Peyton both of Coffeyville brothers, Johnnie Peyton and wife Selma of Coffeyville, Jerry Peyton and wife Diane of South Coffeyville, OK, Roger and wife Mary of Independence, KS, James Peyton of Coffeyville sister, Darlene Inman of Caney, KS four granddaughters, Melissa, Luci, Tiffany, Stephanie four greatgrandsons, Trevor, Jonathan, Devin and Christopher. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Grace and a brother, Ted Peyton. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday April 20,2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Robbins Cemetery Patio, west of Coffeyville, KS. Pastor Joe Brooks will officiate. PenwellGabel FordWulfBruns Chapel in assisting the family with arrangements. The family suggests in lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the First Baptist Church in Coffeyville, KS. These may be left with the funeral home.
