Ralph Gene Twitchell, 86, Coffeyville, KS, died late Saturday night, January 2, 2010 at Windsor Place Care Center. Ralph was born June 9, 1923 at Jefferson, KS to Sam Twitchell and Alma Manis Twitchell. He was a lifelong resident of the Coffeyville area, with the exception of his military service and six years in Wichita. Ralph served during World War II as a member of the U.S. Armys 4th Infantry as a Half Track Driver. He married RubyArlene Stogdills on April 2, 1946 at Coffeyville. She preceded Ralph in death in 2004. Ralph had worked for Funk Manufacturing and Nutrena Feeds, both of Coffeyville and for the BOEING plant in Wichita for six years before retiring in 1989. He attended the Lewark Church of God and enjoyed gardening, raising his goats and was a collector who believed one mans trash is another mans treasure. Survivors are a son, Ralph E. Twitchell and his wife, Sharon of Coffeyville two daughters, Sharon Driskel and her husband, Don of Dewey, Oklahoma and Juanita Flowers and her husband, Tim of Coffeyville two brothers, Chet Twitchell of Coffeyville and Bud Twitchell and his wife, Joyce of Tyro, Kansas two sisters, Tootie Twitchell of Texas and June Little of Delaware, Oklahoma seven grandchildren 14 greatgrandchildren and nine greatgreatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife and both parents. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at PenwellGabel FordWulfBruns Chapel with Chaplain Mike Graham officiating. Interment will be in Coffeyvilles Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of PenwellGabel Funeral Home.
