Coffeyville resident Raymond L. Gallaugher died Friday, January 11, 2008 in Wichita . He was 67. He was born August 14, 1940, in Coffeyville to Cecil Joseph and Olar Elizabeth Woods Gallaugher. He graduated from Field Kindley Memorial High School in 1958. At age fifty, he returned to school and graduated from DeVry University in Atlanta , Georgia . Mr. Gallaugher served with the US Navy right after high school. He was a helicopter mechanic and served on the USS Hornet while in the Navy. On May 3, 1964, he was united in marriage to Frances Richards in Coffeyville. The couple made their home in Coffeyville while Mr. Gallaugher was employed at Funk Manufacturing and later worked in electrical assembly
ision at Cessna. At the time of his death he was employed as a driver for Comforting Angels where he transported clients to appointments. Ray enjoyed the County Time Music Theater and attended regularly. Other hobbies included working with Hamm Radios and fishing. Survivors include one daughter, Wanda and Todd Hearson of Wichita, KS; one son, Lonnie and Sara Gallaugher of Manhattan, KS; one sister Norma and her husband Walter Bachman; and 2 grandchildren Krista and Jared Hearson of Wichita. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his wife Frances on October 5, 2005; a sister Ethyleen; a brother Merle; an infant twin brothers; and a younger sister. A memorial service will be held at Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 18, 2008. Pastor Dennis Richards will officiate and inurnment will follow in Penwell-Gabels Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association and may be left at the funeral home.
