Raya Marie Tallman, age 63, of Coffeyville, KS, passed away on October 28, 2015 at St. John's Medical Center in Tulsa.
Raya was born on May 27, 1952 in Des Moines, Iowa the daughter of Kenneth and Dorothy (Chase) Urquhart. As a child the family moved to many different locations following Kenneth's work. Raya graduated from high school in Batesville Arkansas. After high school she married Donald Earl Wilson and the couple was blessed with a daughter in 1975, the couple later divorced. Raya found work on a show horse ranch outside of Las Vegas. On a trip back to Arkansas her vehicle broke down in Cherryvale, KS, while her car was being fixed the owners of the Meishlers mechanic shop offer her a job and she accepted. It was there she met John Tallman her salesman for Napa Auto Parts, the couple later married in 1986. They made their home in Independence where she worked for ACC/DANA and Pats House Daycare, until they lost their home to the flood in 2007. Raya loved cats, children, and most of all her grandchildren. She was also attended Coffeyville Women's Connections Meeting.
Left to honor her memory is her daughter, Leeann Stevenson and husband, brother Jack Urquhart, sister Karen Bombard, and grandchildren, Zane, Matthew, and Levi Stevenson. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband John.
A celebration of life service will be held on Tuesday November 3, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Crossroads Community of Christ Church with Pastor Leslie Brooks officiating under the direction of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel. Friends are invited to sign the register on November 2, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6 to 7. The family suggests memorials to A.W.O.L or the American Diabetes Association and they can be left with the Chapel.
