Richard Eldon Brown, 51, South Coffeyville, Oklahoma was the victim of an accidental drowning at Copan Lake, Friday, April 22, 2011. Richard was born December 29, 1959 at Dodge City, Kansas to Charles Ivan Brown and Chlora Faye Hurst Brown. He came to South Coffeyville at an early age and later moved to Nowata, Oklahoma. Richard received his education in the South Coffeyville and Nowata Schools. He was member of Boilermakers Local 592 for 22 years and was currently employed by Aquilex Welding Services, Atlanta, Georgia. Richard was known for his good nature and quick smile. He enjoyed cooking out with family and friends and boating and dirt track racing at MidAmerica Speedway. Richard also was an avid fisherman and catfish were his favorite to catch. Survivors include his brother, Charles R. Brown and his wife, Pam of Grove, Oklahoma three nephews, one niece, other relatives and many friends. Richard was preceded in death by his parents and by two brothers, Stephen and David Brown. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 28, 2011 at PenwellGabel FordWulfBruns Chapel with Pastor Donna McClure of Amazing Grace Chapel officiating. Interment will follow in Coffeyvilles Fairview Cemetery under the direction of PenwellGabel Funeral Home Crematory. Friends may call at the funeral home, Wednesday, 9am8pm and donations to the charity of ones choice in memory of Richard may be left at the funeral home.
