Robert J. Avery, 86, passed away Tuesday, March 16th at Labette Health and Emergency Room in Independence, Kansas.

Bob was born July 12, 1934 to Elwood Avery and Ruth (Mccorkle) Avery. He married Phyllis (Moberly) Avery on October 25, 1952. She preceded him in death on July 5, 2012. Four children were born to their union. Surviving to honor his memory are daughter, Diana (Avery) and husband Tony Restus of Algoma, Wisconsin, son, David Avery of Rogers, Arkansas, daughter, Denise Buck and son, Dennis Avery both of rural Coffeyville, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and his one sister, Betty Nance, of Independence and a dear close friend, Joanne Bromley of Coffeyville.

He served many years as head deacon for the Crossroads Community of Christ.

Bob worked at various area heating and plumbing companies and retired in Topeka as an on the road salesperson for Kamen Supply Company of Topeka.

Bob enjoyed exercise classes at the Coffeyville Senior Center and served on that board until his death.

Graveside memorial services will be held on March 31, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Spring Hill Cemetery Northwest of Coffeyville, Kansas. The family suggests memorials be made payable to the Crossroads Community of Christ Church and they may be sent in care of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel 2405 Woodland Ave. Coffeyville, KS 67337.
