Robert E. Bolden, age 71 of Coffeyville passed away on November 2, 2018 at Manor Care in Wichita.
Robert was born in Shreveport, LA on February 16, 1947 to Curtis Bolden and Carrie Drop. From a young age his mother noticed that Robert was always running and climbing, which would continue on during sports. Robert was a standout in football and baseball until a leg injury ended his sports career and dreams of competing at the collegiate level. Bob's backup plan was to join the military, which he did by signing up in the United States Army. He served with the 2nd Armored Tank Division, Hell on Wheels. After being honorably discharged Robert met the love of his life. At a party Cora Young was told to ask if she could borrow Bob's stereo, he said no but he would love to buy her one, and the rest is 53 years of marriage history. Bob enjoyed bowling, being a husband and a dad.
Left to cherish his memories are sons, Curtis Bolden Sr., Mack Tompkins his wife Renee, daughter Shanell, six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in memory by his parents, his wife Cora.
Home going services will be held on Friday, November 16, 2018 at 11:30 am at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel. Interment will immediately follow in Fairview Cemetery next to his wife.
