RobertBob Leon Eastman, 71, of Coffeyville, Kansas, went to be with the Lord March 29, 2011, after suffering a sudden heart attack. Bob was born June 6, 1939, in Winfield, Kansas, the son of late William and Leah Wells Eastman. He had 6 siblings. On December 28, 1963, he married Darline Terrell and they had two daughters Jillinda Jean amp Helen Margaret. They divorced after 32 years of marriage. On November 1, 1996, Bob married Donna Jean Burton of Independence, KS. Mr. Eastman graduated valedictorian from Grenola High School in 1957. He then graduated from the US Naval Academy in 1963. He served as a Naval Officer for 5 years as pilot and flight instructor in US, Japan amp the Philippines, serving 3 tours of duty in Vietnam. Following his honorable discharge in 1971, he attended the University of Kansas, receiving a Jurisdoctrate Degree and began practicing law as a partner with Becker, Hildreth, Levy amp Lively in Coffeyville, KS. In the late 80s he started his private law practice and in 2000, Bob expanded the law practice and established Coffeyville Title amp Abstract Co. to serve the real estate needs of Coffeyville and surrounding area. He was an active member, Jr. Warden and choir member of St. Pauls Episcopal Church. Mr. Eastmans professional memberships and certifications included Kansas Bar Association, Kansas Land Title Association, Coffeyville Rotary Club and Genesis, Inc. Mr Eastman is survived by his wife, Donna Jean Eastman of Coffeyville, Ks. daughter and soninlaw, Jill and Mike Ewing of Spring Hill, Ks daughter and soninlaw, Helen and Mark Angermayer of Stilwell, Ks stepdaughter and soninlaw, Grace and Rick Stephens of Kansas City, Mo. grandchildren Drew amp Brenna Ewing of Spring Hill, Ks, and Megan amp Gabriel Angermayer of Stilwell, Ks stepgrandchilren, Megan Caulkins of Wichita, Ks and Michael Stephens of Independence, Ks siblings Bill Eastman of Wichita, Ann Vaughan of Wichita, Mick Eastman of Sacramento, Ca, Dick Eastman of Grenola, Ks and Jim Eastman of Augusta, Ks. He was preceded in death by his parents and his infant sister, Jeanette. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., April 7, 2011 at St. Pauls Episcopal Church with the very Reverend Jerry Adinolfi officiating. Interment will be in Independence at Mt. Hope Cemetery under the direction of PenwellGabel FordWulfBruns Chapel. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 6, 2011, 10:00 a.m. till 8:00 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m. at PenwellGabel FordWulfBruns Chapel. Donations can be made to the St. Pauls Episcopal Church and may be left with the funeral home.
