Robert E. Miller, 79, Coffeyville, passed away Monday afternoon, May 24, 2010 at his home. Robert was born May 25, 1930 at Coffeyville, to Jake Miller and Irma Evans Miller. He grew up in Coffeyville and was a graduate of Field Kindley Memorial High School and Coffeyville Junior College before entering the U.S. Air Force in 1951. Robert married Margie Moberly on April 28, 1954. He retired from Phillips Petroleum Company, Bartlesville, OK, in 1985 after 30 years of service. Robert was a Red Cross volunteer for 12 years and worked numerous locations, including as a chaplain following the 911 tragedy. He worked for FEMA for five years, retiring in 2008. He is survived by his wife, Margie, of the home two sons, Keith DeWayne Miller of Phoenix, Arizona and Scott Russell Miller of St. Robert, Missouri one daughter, Leslie Brooks and her husband, John of rural Independence, KS six grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren. Robert will be cremated and a Celebration of Life service announced at a later date. Services are under the direction of PenwellGabels FordWulfBruns Chapel.
