Robert John Ohmie 1925-2005 Robert John Ohmie, age 79, of Coffeyville, KS, died Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at his home. He was born July 8, 1925 in Elk Falls, Kansas to John Ohmie and Bertha Gehrke. Robert married Hazel Nading Carpenter Ohmie on August 8, 1970 in Miami, Oklahoma. She survives in the home. Robert loved to farm and work in his garden. He loved to help his family and friends in anyway he could. He loved to spend time with his family and grandchildren. He belonged to the Local Union 201 of Wichita, KS. He worked for and retired from the Donlinger Construction Company of Wichita, KS. Robert will be greatly missed. Survivors include: Wife: Hazel Ohmie of the home. 1 Daughter: Barbara Jean Edwards and husband William of Kansas City, MO. 1 Step-Daughter: Joan Corte and husband Henry of Knoxville, TN. 2 Step-Sons: Duane Carpenter and wife Deanna of Coffeyville. Manford Carpenter of Emporia, KS. 1 Sister: Lil Adams of Colorado Springs, CO. 1 Brother: Floyd Ohmie of Coffeyville. 8 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren. Preceded in death by: His parents, 1 sister and 4 brothers. Cremation has taken place and Graveside Inurnment Services will be Tuesday, April 5, 2005 at 2pm at the Penwell-Gabel Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Coffeyville. Military Rites will be conducted by the VFW Post 1022 of Coffeyville. There will be no visitation, but a Memorial Book will be available for signing at the cemetery on Tuesday. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel in Coffeyville.
