Robert V. Partridge Coffeyville resident, Robert V. Partridge, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, July 18, 2007. He was 79 years old. Robert was born June 6, 1928 in Kansas City, Missouri to Vaughn Leroy and Alice Evelyn Hurd Partridge. He received his BME in Music Education from Tulsa University in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He continued his education with graduate studies at Wichita State, Kansas State and Pittsburg State Universities in Kansas; Wisconsin University in Whitewater, Wisconsin; Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado and Morehead State University in Morehead, Kentucky. He was a music director for over thirty years in the Coffeyville school district. He served with the United States Marine Corps in El Toro, Califonia and Korea from 1951 to 1953. Mr. Partridges activities included conducting the Coffeyville Community Orchestra, Coffeyville Male Chorus, Choir Director of St. Pauls Episcopal Church and Coffeyville Community Theater. He was a former rodeo trick rider in both the PRCA and the IPRA, appearing throughout the United States for 25 years. He was a former member of the Lions Club in Douglass, Arkansas City and Coffeyville, Kansas. Upon his retirement, he was a member of the Tulsa Community band, the Bartlesville Symphony Orchestra and the Bartlesville Choral Society. Robert also loved golf, tennis, bowling, walking, horseback riding, driving, visits to the casino and enjoyed watching old western movies. He is survived by his sons, John Partridge of Lenapah, Oklahoma and Joel Partridge and wife, Christy, of Wellsville, Kansas; Daughters, Janie Hubbard and Ernie Adame of Coffeyville, Joy Partridge and Brian Spradley of Chanute, Kansas, Julie Partridge and Phil Anton of Carbondale, Illinois; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Arthur Partridge of Greeley, Colorado; two nieces and one nephew. He is preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 23, 2007 at St. Pauls Episcopal Church in Coffeyville. Father Jerry Adinolfi will officiate. Burial will follow at Penwell-Gabels Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Coffeyville. Friends may call on Saturday, July 21, 2007 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Sunday, July 22, 2007 from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. to sign the guest register.
