Robert Wayne "Bob" Seger age 81 of Coffeyville and formerly of the Grand Lake area passed away on January 3, 2018 at his home.
Bob was born in Hollow, OK on October 9, 1936 to Albert and Gladys (Martin) Seger. He started grammar school in Welch, Pierson, and graduated from Field Kindley High School when the family made Coffeyville their home. He continued his education at Coffeyville Community College then he enlisted in the United States Navy. Bob proudly served for 5 years then received an honorable discharge. He moved to California where he attended Pacific States University earning his degree as an electrical engineer. Bob met Elizabeth "Betty" Yorek In 1962, the couple dated for a year and married on January 6, 1963. In 1973 the couple left California, traveled the United States and Canada for 9 months and finally landed in Bartlesville, OK. They made their home there for 12 years until moving to Texas. In 1991 they retired to the Grand Lake area where they made their home. Betty preceded Bob in death in 2016 and he had recently moved back to Coffeyville. Bob worked as an engineer for Litton Industries, Phillips Petroleum, and Applied Automation. Bob and Betty loved traveling the world, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, and all across the United States. He also loved hunting and fishing, so much so that he made a yearly trip to Canada where he would spend 3 weeks fishing. Bob was a member of the NRA and Ducks Unlimited.
Bob's memories will live on with his siblings, Forrest "Bill" Seger his wife Patricia, Carl "Richard" Seger his wife Joyce, David Eugene Seger his wife Shawn, Linda Carol Bungart her husband Jim.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Betty.
Friends are invited to sign the register and visit with the family on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. The family will hold a private burial at Fairview Cemetery at a later date. The family suggests memorials to the Tatman Cancer Center and they may be sent in care of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel 2405 Woodland Ave Coffeyville, KS 67337.
