Coffeyville resident, Roberta W. Bobbi Leathers, 59, passed away Thursday, Feruary 21, 2008 at Windsor Place. Bobbi was born on September 15, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of William F. and Mildred Lemke Brown. She graduated from high school in Buena Park, California and attended college at Fullerton Community College in Fullerton, California. On November 19, 1971 in Norfolk, Virginia, Bobbi was united in marriage to Michael Leathers. She served in the U.S. Navy from August 6, 1968 and was honorably discharged on November 24, 1976. During her career as a Second Class Petty Officer, Bobbi was stationed at the U.S. Navy Naval Air Station, Norfolk, Virginia and Barbers Point, Hawaii. After her discharge, she became a stay at home mom and a homemaker raising three children, Michael, Jr., Jennifer, and Lynda. During her spare time she enjoyed reading and playing softball. Surviving to honor her memory is her husband, Michael of the home; her children; three grandchildren, William S. Owen, William M. and Riley Leathers; step-grandchildren, Kara, Courtney, and Dakota Kastler; and two sisters, Carol and Marie. She was preceded in death by both of her parents. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 28, 2008 at Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Penwell-Gabels Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. where her family will receive friends that evening from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to the National MS Society in care of the funeral home.
