Robreno Abelardo Natividad Gomez, age 29, of Coffeyville, KS, passed away on September 1, 2016 at St. Johns Medical Center in Tulsa, OK.
Rob was born on November 22, 1986 in Coffeyville, the son of Israel Gomez. He attended school in Coffeyville and graduated from Thunderbird Youth Academy.
After graduating Rob proudly joined the United States Marine Corps, where he served with honor 4 years and 6 months. He excelled as a Marine, serving with the
5th Battalion 10th Marine 2nd Division during Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom. He was awarded the Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation, Meritorious Mass, and he received qualification badges as a sharpshooter with rifle and pistol.
After being honorably discharged Rob returned overseas and worked as a contractor in Iraq, until he returned to the United States to continue his education.
He received his Associates Degree from Coffeyville Community College and was working towards his Bachelor's Degree at Pittsburg State University
while working as a sales manager for Auto Zone. Those that knew Rob knew he could be somewhat ornery, one friend summed up his orneriness by stating; "The Bible says it took 6 days for God to create the heavens, the earth and all of its inhabitants. Let it be a testament to his life that it took 5 days for God to prepare the rest of Heaven for the arrival of Robreno Gomez. I imagine that if things get boring up there he will soon be the ring leader of black market trade." Rob enjoyed working on vehicles and motorcycles while also being an avid gun collector,
but most of all he loved spending time with his children, family, friends, and his partner in crime Chuck.
Left to honor his memory: First and foremost his best friend, companion and partner in crime Chuck Rufis Capone, Fiancé- Rachel Purkey, 10 year old son Bryson Gomez,
5 year old daughter Amaya Gomez, Father- Israel Gomez, sisters- Rosenda Hanigan (her husband Justin and their daughters Karmen and Sophia Hanigan),
Summer Gomez, 4 nieces, 2 nephews.
