Ronald Brakhage passed away on October 22, 2016 at his home.

Ron was born on the 12th of October, 1949 in Coffeyville, Kansas. He was born to Edith Holder and Everett Brakhage. He married Susan Stinson on April 18, 1969. They had two children Shane Brakhage and Craig N. Brakhage.

He was employed for English Construction and then went to serve in the military service in the US Army in Vietnam from 1969 to 1971. He was in the 4th Battalion 21st Infantry, 11th Infantry 11th Brigade Americal Division. Ron was a recipient of a Purple Heart and two Bronze Stars. After returning he was stationed at Ft. Hood, Texas. He then was employed with Sherwin-Williams, later becoming self-employed and then retiring.

He was preceded in death by his father, Everett Brakhage, mother, Edith Holder Brakhage and a brother, David Brakhage. He is survived by his step-mother, Arlene Brakhage, his wife, Susan Brakhage, his two sons, Shane Brakhage, Craig Brakhage and wife Lori; brother, Danny Brakhage and wife Paula, Debbie Garner and husband Jay; Robin Garrison and husband, Ron; numerous nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Tim Stinson; sister-in-law, Cathy Schaefer and husband Craig, sister-in-law, Jan Kahler and husband David.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 11:00 am at Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, with Pastor Johnathon Schultz of Trinity Lutheran Church of Caney officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 from Noon to 8pm with the family receiving friends from 6 to 8 at the chapel. Burial will take place at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
