Ronald (Ron) Macy was born on January 4, 1933 in Attica, Kansas where he grew up. He spent his time as most kids do playing sports, football and baseball, and doing his best to stay out of trouble. Ron left Attica to join in the United States Navy in 1951 and was stationed at the Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake in the Mojave Desert. During his time in the Navy, he proudly served his country in the Korean War.
Ron returned to Kansas after his time in the Navy where he worked in aircraft manufacturing. He retired from Leerjet in 1995 and moved to Longton, Kansas. He spent his retirement years enjoying his horses and tinkering in the shop. Ron was also an avid sports fan, particularly the Kansas City Chiefs.
Ron left the physical world on January 14, 2021 at 6:30am. He is survived by his wife of 20 years Rebecca (Becky) Macy, four step-children, Amanda Foley (Bill), Jacob Harper (Jeanne), O’Dell Harper (Angie), and Jordon Pritchett (Alexis). He is also survived his sisters JoAnn Vogel and Susan Estes. In addition, Ron is survived by 13 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, three brothers-in-law, four sisters-in-law, his father-in-law, and many more extended family members.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 28 years, Charlotte and his granddaughter Shianne; siblings, Chuck, Paul and Barbara.
