Rosa Lea Lewis formerly of Coffeyville passed away Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at Regal Estates in Independence, KS. She was 65. Rosa Lea was born November 11, 1943 in Coffeyville, Kansas to Wincle and Floye Twitchell. She grew up in Coffeyville and attended local schools graduating from Field Kindley Memorial High School. She then went on to attend a Christian Bible College in Texas for a year. An illness brought her back to Coffeyville. She married Jim Lewis at the Church of God in Coffeyville, the couple
orced many years later. Rosa Lea was a member of the Church of God for many years; her mission was to pray for people. She was a prayer warrior. She enjoyed being a Sunday school teacher to the children, crocheting helping others with their children, singing in the church and making trips to Wichita with Barbara to help with the kids. Surviving to honor her memory are her god-sisters, Barbara Ritchey, Mary Crites, Sharon Twitchell; sisters, Bonnie Finney and husband Harold of Coffeyville, Phyllis Hills; brother, Gary Twitchell; God-Children, Troy and Tommy Ritchey, Becky, Pam and Michael Crites, Samantha and Sheena Ritchey. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Carmelee Daniels who she loved dearly and grandparents, Sam and Alma Twitchell. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at 10:30 a.m. at Penwell-Gabels Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel. Reverend John Lockaby will officiate. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday, May 26, 2009 from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. to sign the guest register. The family suggests memorial contributions can be made to the Southview Church of God these may be left with the funeral home.
